I'm black! Should I bother auditioning for the school production of The Winslow Boy?
There have been black people as equals in our society for nearly 500 years - even when we had slavery, not all black people in the UK were slaves. There is no reason you couldn't be cast, though of course it depends who else they cast, because if they have a white father, they might feel they have to have a white son (obviously). However, this is a school production and school productions are limited by who's talented not who has the "right" look. As long as the acting is good, I couldn't care less if the Winslow Boy was actually a girl!
