Why Does Nobody Celebrate St.Georges Day?

I think it needs to be made into a proper holiday so people have the day off work & schools are closed so people are free to celebrate. It is up to every area to organise events, parades for the day & make it more festive so everyone can join in.......... St. Patrick's day is a great day here in Galway, Ireland, the parade is great for all the family & a great buzz about the place. Think if it is made into a proper holiday then it would be celebrated more........
