Did Jesus keep the Sabbath?

When Jesus with his disciples started to eat ears of corn in a field he was told that it was against the teachings of the laws of Judaism. Jesus said that He was Lord of the Sabbath suggesting perhaps some of the rules of Judaism were not necessary or suggesting he was above the Law.
